A West Bank-wide labor strike has been called for Sunday, a working day, over Palestinian deaths in Tulkarem in the West Bank and Gaza, Palestinian political faction Fatah said on Saturday, according to official Palestinian news agency WAFA. The strike calls on people "to unite in support of our people," Fatah said, according to WAFA. The Palestinian Teachers Union said that a general strike will be adhered to at all schools, educational facilities, and the ministry, WAFA reported, adding that the General Union of Transport Workers also said it is committed to adhering to the strike. CNN —Hundreds of armed Israeli settlers stormed a village in the occupied West Bank on Friday, setting fire to several homes and cars in one of the largest attacks by settlers this year, according to Palestinian officials. According to Abu-Alia, Israeli security forces had informed Palestinian officials that the settlers were looking for an Israeli teenager who had gone missing earlier in the day. A growing number of children in Gaza are dying from dehydration and malnutrition amid desperate conditions due to Israel’s throttling of aid and destruction of the besieged enclave, reinforcing the urgency of this week’s ceasefire talks. CNN —A video reviewed by CNN Tuesday shows a man in military fatigues shooting and wounding a mentally disabled Palestinian near the occupied West Bank city of Hebron. “Anybody who meets Tarek can tell immediately he has special needs,” Diaa Abu Abed said. The soldiers refused to listen.”The men had their rifles aimed at Tarek Abu Abed, and shouting can be heard. Diaa Abu Abed said that an onlooker called him, and he arrived on the scene soon after. Tarek Abu Abed suffered heavy bleeding and has undergone surgery on his leg, his brother said.

Israeli airstrikes hit about 200 Hamas targets in Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces said in an update Monday, a day after the IDF announced it was expanding its ground operations to the entire enclave. Other airstrikes hit a vehicle holding weapons and an arms storage facility, the IDF said. The Israeli navy also struck a number of targets overnight, “assisting with the reinforcement of ground troops,” the IDF said. Expanded operation: The Israel Defense Forces on Sunday announced it is expanding its ground operations to all of Gaza, following the collapse of a truce with Hamas on Friday. Analysts say the war is bound to continue until Hamas is crushed, and it may be much fiercer this time. The Israeli military’s announcement about the resumption in fighting came moments after the truce between Israel and Hamas expired. The deal saw the warring parties exchange hostages held in Gaza for Palestinians held in Israeli prisons. During its October 7 attack, Hamas killed more than 1,200 in Israel and kidnapped about 240 others, Israeli authorities said.

CNN —Israel’s military said it was resuming combat operations in Gaza on Friday morning after the temporary truce with Hamas that had paved the way for hostage releases broke down. The hard-negotiated temporary truce, which began last Friday, was extended by two days following the release of some captives held by Hamas. The truce brought temporary respite to the besieged enclave of Gaza, which had been relentlessly pounded by Israel’s military since the Hamas attack. As the truce expiration loomed, both Israel and Hamas indicated they were prepared for fighting to resume. Under the terms of the truce deal, Israel has to free three Palestinians for every Israeli hostage released.
